KenGen launches 40MW Kamburu Floating Solar Project

Kenya Energy Generating company has initiated the development of 40MW Floating Solar Photovoltaic plant at Kamburu Dam .This venture backed by Germany development bank sets out to harness solar energy at the 94MW-capacity Kamburu Dam, strategically situated in Kenya’s southern territory
This move aligns with Kenya’s growing solar capacity, which reached approximately 307MW by the end of the previous year, as per data disclosed by the International Renewable Energy Association (IREA). The country continues to expand its renewable energy portfolio, aiming for sustainable and efficient power generation

                @boniface_kuria It would be a shame if other Eastern African countries never took a page from Kenya's book to adapt to climate change and go sustainable through provision of green energy. They really should benchmark this.
