Sultan Al Jaber's statement, indicating the United Arab Emirates' oil and gas company's intention to continue investing in oil and gas production, raises concerns about the alignment of actions with global climate goals. This position seems contradictory to the goals of COP28, where global leaders coordinated efforts to transition away from fossil fuels. The statement highlights the ongoing challenge of reconciling economic interests in the fossil fuel industry with the imperative to address climate change and transition to sustainable energy sources

Why did he then attend Cop28 knowing that he will still invest in fossil fuels .... What a waste of time

What a dissappointment,so this means we should not expect him to implement any of the projects they discussed a while back?hope such people denying justice to our motherland get senses and invest in clean energy and abandon their mega oil deals

@rosebellendiritu I agree with you , this is a dangerous leader who promises one thing and does another, I feel like he has betrayed the globe for leading an international conference and doing the opposite of the conference's expectations.

It's disappointing, the resources his using to invest on more oil, why can't he use it transit to clean energies instead?? 😣

This is so heartbreaking. As others are striving to shift to renewable energy this one is still investing in fossils fuel. So sad
