Volvo Group partners with Indian company to develop fossil-free products

Volvo Group has partnered with Rane (Madras) Ltd. to develop fossil-free products for making its trucks. As part of this collaboration, fossil-free tie rods and linkages will be developed. These are essential components that steer the wheels of Volvo trucks. Volvo Group is planning to turn into a climate-neutral company by 2040. In this regard, it is slowly changing its sources and suppliers for more climate-friendly products. Keeping this in mind, Volvo had begun to source Fossil Free Castings from India in 2022. This new collaboration with Rane will potentially reduce CO2 emissions for Volvo by 13,000 tons annually. Volvo claims that these products are manufactured using 100% renewable energy across the supply chain, thus phasing out fossil fuels and hazardous materials.
