Green light to reintroducing glyphosate in the EU – when profit for a few matters more than the lives of many

The European Food Safety Authority just issued a favorable opinion on the reintroduction of glyphosate in the European Union. In a new report, the EFSA stated that glyphosate does not present a "critical area of concern" for humans, animals, and the environment, even though it noted that there is "a high long-term risk in mammals" for half of glyphosate's proposed uses.
With this in mind, the EFSA concluded by saying that nothing prevents the renewal of glyphosate's authorization in the European Union.
Yes, you read right: "Nothing prevents the renewal of glyphosate".
No, this isn't a joke. The EFSA really said that glyphosate does not present a "critical area of concern".
"Not a critical area of concern" for a product that the World Health Organization's (WHO) International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) classified as a "probable carcinogen" for humans in 2015.
"Not a critical area of concern" for a product for which France's Institut national de santé et de la recherche médicale (Inserm) concluded in 2021 that "there is an increased risk of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma with a moderate presumption of a link with glyphosate".
"Not a critical area of concern" for a product that exerts a significant toxic effect on neurotransmission according to the National Institutes of Health in 2022.
So yes, indeed, "nothing prevents the renewal of glyphosate". Well, I mean, that's true. Nothing prevents it if we care more about the interests of Bayer than the health of humans, animals, and our planet.

Not to make it worst (joking), glyphosate, like many other pesticides and herbicides, is derivated from fossil fuels. It also contaminates water and soil.

But all hope isn't lost yet. This is just an opinion of the European Food Safety Authority, an opinion that the EU could choose not to listen to. So now, let's put pressure on the EU Commission and European governments! Glyphosate needs to be banned!

Really? Why this sort of retrogression that's driven by egocentrism and pure malice? It's very clear that this body isn't fit for the task given.

@joyce_waturu_nyakweya this always happens when there is a system that prefer profits over lives which is so selfish.
