World’s 1st EV passport to offer carbon footprint, battery origins

Volvo Cars has said it is going to launch the world’s first electric vehicle (EV) battery passport. It is going to be the first time that a automaker has decided to issue a battery passport along with the vehicle.
The battery passport will include details such as the raw material origins, components, recycled content and carbon footprint.
The fully electric EX90 is a 7-seater SUV. According to the company it will offer a 300 mile range and an estimated 30 minutes DC fast-charging. The car will also offer 509 hp power and will be able to go from 0 to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds.
It should be noted that the European Union (EU) has made it mandatory for all EVs sold in the region to have a battery passport, beginning February 2027.
