At the CICR National Sustainability Congress 2024, Costa Rica addressed crucial topics such as product circularity, climate change adaptation, industrial decarbonization, financial education and sustainability, and fleet electrification. Experts and companies shared their approaches, projects and actions in matters of sustainability and circular economy. Here are some data and definitions of this great day:
🔹 Gerardo Miranda Fernández, Corporate Manager of Safety, Health and Environment of @FIFCOCR: “The organization's sustainability strategy is based on creative and expansive collaboration. Collaborative because we are clear that it is an effort that we must make among all the actors in society; creative because we need to generate new solutions; and expansive, because we must expand these efforts to the entire society.”
🔹 Luis Mastroeni Camacho, Director of Corporate Relations of @Cooperativa de Productos de Leche R.L - Dos Pinos: “95% of our PET bottles are made of non-virgin resin (RPET) and 96% of our packaging is recyclable. In addition, we have produced 290 desks from recycled tetra pak and used 240 tons for the manufacture of cardboard boxes."
🔹 Paulina Villegas, Director of Sustainability for Latin America and Canada at Philip Morris International: “PMI's goal is to build a smoke-free future: we cannot talk about sustainability if we do not recognize the impact of our products. We offer lower risk alternatives. It is best not to smoke, but if you decide to continue, we give you an option with less impact on your health.”
This event was co-organized with Promotora del Comercio Exterior de Costa Rica (PROCOMER) in alliance with @banconacional_cr and had the support of: @Grupo INS, @Philip Morris International, VICESA SA, @nestle @agqlabsbc Cooperativa Dos Pinos, @Philips , @Grupo ICE and Geocycle .
