Joppa residents say new study backs up what they already know: the air is heavily polluted.

A recent study conducted by Texas A&M University researchers and Joppa residents revealed that the Joppa community, home to around 2,000 people, has been exposed to significantly higher levels of toxic air pollution compared to the rest of Dallas County. The study found that dangerous pollutants exceeded federal limits, on average, once a week. A clinical survey completed by over half of Joppa households indicated that a significant number of residents reported lifetime asthma at double the Dallas Fort-Worth average and over 30% higher than the national average. A survey of Joppa households indicated that 62% of respondents considered air quality poor and believed it was making them or their family sick. Many blamed nearby industries and nearly half said they avoided going outside due to air pollution. https://youtu.be/X9C7gFi_j8g?si=9B0sNT722D7CkgOh

This means that soon or in the near future residents will be flocking hospitals because this kind of air pollution will bring health complications that might turn fatal,I pity young kids more.

The study by Texas A&M University researchers and Joppa residents sheds light on a distressing reality: the Joppa community faces alarmingly high levels of toxic air pollution. The findings, which revealed pollutants consistently exceeding federal limits, are deeply concerning. The survey results indicate a clear negative impact on residents' health, with elevated asthma rates and widespread dissatisfaction with air quality. Industry proximity and outdoor avoidance are evident consequences. Urgent action is needed to address this environmental injustice. #AirPollution #EnvironmentalJustice 🌎😷

It's deeply concerning that Joppa residents have to endure such high levels of air pollution, and it's disheartening that their concerns have been validated by this new health study. Clean air is a basic human right, and the situation in Joppa highlights the urgent need for environmental improvements to protect public health.
