The first family of Kenya has called on the spouses of members of parliament to join them in their efforts to combat climate change and restore the country’s forest cover. President William Ruto, and the First Lady, Mama Rachel Ruto, hosted a breakfast meeting for spouses of members of the National Assembly this morning at State House, Nairobi. The meeting, which had representation from every corner of the country, was aimed at exploring areas of partnership between Mama Doing Good, an initiative of the First Lady, and the spouses as they support their respective Members of Parliament and deliver to their constituents. The President expressed his commitment to work with every member of parliament for the benefit of the wananchi. He also urged the spouses to support their members of parliament by taking up initiatives geared toward greening Kenya.https://ntvkenya.co.ke/news/first-family-calls-on-mps-spouses-to-champion-climate-change-solutions/

Since they are on the ground, the spouses are in a better position to champion climate actions.
