Climate warning

The United States has approved a huge oil drilling project

Joe Biden has approved a huge oil drilling project in Alaska despite the fact that we are in the middle of a climate crisis! The project is expected to produce up to 180,000 barrels of oil per day for the next three decades! The amount of CO2 emitted from burning 180,000 barrels of the oil depends on various factors such as the quality of the oil, its chemical composition, and the efficiency of the combustion process. However, we can provide a rough estimate based on the average carbon content of crude oil and the standard conversion factors. On average, each barrel of crude oil contains approximately 317 kilograms of carbon, which can be converted to around 1.160 kg of carbon dioxide when burned. Therefore, burning 180,000 barrels of oil would emit approximately: 1,160 kg CO2/barrel x 180,000 barrels = 208,800,000 kg CO2 or 208,800 metric tons of CO2 per day!! We Don’t have time for this! How can the US be a climate leader if they do this? It is hypocritical. We need to phase out oil now, not drill for more oil in new places! A global system needs to be agreed via the United-Nations-parliement & the United-Nations-Climate-council, to determine how much oil/gas, etc. may be extracted per year from Earth's finite fossil resources! Ie; when the USA-government announces to extract more oil/gas on USA-national-soil, then eg. Saudi-Arabia must agree to extract diametrically fewer oil/gas from their national-soil; which -of course- needs to be negotiated via the United-Nations' parliament! Else; it would indeed be totally impossible to keep to anywhere near of △+1.5℃ of total global-heating via Paris-Greenhouse-gasses-reduction-accord!!!

I am convinced that the chance will not come from the politics, since the short term results will always be a priority. They do what they are supposed to. They satisfy our greed. How many of you buy unnecesary stuff, go on vacactions once or twice a year by airplane, use a car and lie themself thinking that it is necessary? Do you even know your carbon footprint? Do you do what is on your hands to not to 'give' your money to the same people that drill our earth? We get what we deserve, we are not better than our politics.

This is a travesty for everyone who was involved in all fields and alternative solutions to reduce carbon from the oil producer. Now the oil-producing countries will be encouraged to act like that crime. They need to take into account the increase in production in a limited measure, especially since the alternative way did not solve the problems of oil traders hidden from under the curtain. Caution must be exercised. From these steps and the next steps as well

This is a good example of how politicians feed voters with lies, only to do the opposite of what they promised. Sad news indeed

This is cruelty to children and future generations. We are in the midst of trying to stop the auction of oil reserves in DRC - which is expected to increase global CO emissions by 14%. If we do not stop this in Western countries, efforts to stop drilling in developing countries would be green colonialism.

Unbelievable. It is as if most of the (male) leaders on this planet have lost part of their minds and joined a race to make this planet uninhabitable, using oil or bombs as tools. Today’s so called leaders are nothing of the sort; Placing innocent people as victims of war or natures reaction, colonialising our children’s futures and ignoring science with a magnitude I never could imagine. What a self centered ego boosted mess.
