KCB embraces solar energy in response to recurrent Kenya Power outages.

KCB Group embraces solar energy to power its branches in Kenya due to frequent power outages. The bank has already installed solar in two branches and plans to add 19 more by the end of next year. This move will help KCB lower operational costs and reduce its reliance on diesel generators, which increased fuel spending by 54% last year. The bank is also implementing other energy-saving measures, such as installing energy-saving lights and power backup inverters in select branches. KCB joins a growing number of businesses in Kenya turning to solar as a more reliable and cost-effective energy source.
This is a strategic decision that aligns with the growing trend of businesses in Kenya seeking reliable and cost-effective alternatives to traditional power sources. This shift towards renewable energy not only helps the bank reduce operational costs but also contributes to its sustainability efforts.
