CS Tuya commissions restoration of Kiambuthu Wetland, Embu

In respect to the World Environment Day, Kenya's Cabinets secretary for Environment, Climate Change and Forestry , Soipan Tuya commissioned the restoration of Kiambuthu Wetland in Embu town.
The CS in company with Environment PS Festus Ng'eno and delegation of other national and county leaders lead the public in a tree planting exercise at Kiambuthi Wetland.
This year's event was held at Embu University under the theme, 'Land Restoration, Desertification and Drought Resilience'. This is as a result of a collaboration between National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) and the University of Embu which has adopted the wetland for restoration to establish a recreational centre and protect it from further encroachment.
This comes at the time it is needed the most, considering the environmental impact coated by people invading the water catchment areas and wetlands. The restoration of this beautiful scenery is a blessing to our environment. This shows a great commitment from the government and the environmental conservationists in the roadmap to restoration of the environment lost glory.
