Decreasing food waste in the USA

Do Good Foods deserves major climate love for its work to decrease food waste in the USA.
They focus on upcycling food — Surplus grocery food is shared with local food pantries, and then whatever is left over is sent to Do Good Foods' facility to be repurposed into feed for animals.
Recently, Do Good Foods announced its Do Good Eggs™ initiative.
Do Good Eggs™ will work to supply verified carbon-reduced eggs starting in 2023 at foodservice venues nationwide in its partnership with Michael Foods, which is the largest foodservice supplier of egg products in the US. Each dozen eggs from Do Good Eggs™ will save approximately one pound of CO2e from entering the atmosphere, and all eggs will be produced in a cage-free environment.
Mark Westphal, President of Michael Foods, says, “Consumers and corporations alike are craving real change and now our eggs, in partnership with Do Good Eggs, are able to support the movement toward bettering our planet.”
I'm hoping Do Good Foods and Michael Foods can have a productive partnership.... since $408 billion in food is thrown away each year, and nearly 40% of all food in America is wasted (per Feeding America).
Things can't keep on going on as they have been. We have to change. I'm glad to see Do Good Foods and Michael Foods working together to be a part of that change.

Great! With one-third of the food produced in the world going to waste, this type of initiative is well-needed!
