Highlighting fossil fuel subsidies on French national television

A good surprise to see the topic of fossil fuel subsidies being highlighted on the evening news program of the French national channel France 2 on Monday 27. Is it the end of impunity in the media for the fossil fuel industry?
Public money in France finances up to 6 times more gas and oil than the ecological transition. From oil to gas and fertilisers 67 billion euros of public spending are wasted on climate-damaging activities every year. A contradiction that the government now recognizes; these public aids are contrary to the decarbonization objectives displayed by the national low carbon strategy and will be redesigned in the autumn.
The report shows the audience that the climate and energy transition is not costly, we are just spending public funds on the wrong things.

It's good to show the public that transition to clean energy is not costly only that we don't give full committment

Public money should be used to fund the right projects and the information should be transparent. @FranceTelevisions: Thanks for keeping the citizens informed.

It is important to highlight subsidies to fossil fuels on French television. This can help a wide audience to understand the need to reduce the consumption of fossil fuels in the fight against climate change.
