Kenya's President urges the World to end the use plastic
President William Ruto has urged all nations around the globe to end the use of plastic by banning use of polythene bags as Kenya did a few years ago.
Speaking at the United Nations office in Gigiri, Nairobi, during the opening of the third session of the inter-governmental negotiating committee on ending plastic pollution the President emphasised that the world must explore alternatives to use of plastic bags as part of efforts to tackle pollution.
Kenya's head of state also asked all the producers to stop plastic production and to stop use of plastic for packaging. According to the President there are more non-plastic alternatives that can be used to reduce the plastic pollution that is a menace to the environment.
"I invite innovators to come and invest in Africa because the continent has natural resources that can be used for planet-friendly alternatives," said Dr Ruto.

Plastics cause more pollution meaning they do more harm than good, this should be a move/policy that needs to be implemented so that we can reduce all this menace caused by them.

It is encouraging to see the President of Kenya taking a strong stance on the issue of plastic pollution. Plastic waste has become a global crisis and it is important for world leaders to come together and take action to reduce its use. Kenya has already implemented a ban on single-use plastics, and other countries should follow suit. It is our responsibility to protect the environment and future generations from the harmful effects of plastic pollution.
