Nature-based solutions and workforce development coupled with incentivizing good actors is a great idea.

Is there a guide to implementing successful fossil fuel subsidies reforms for governments? Or could this guide be created somehow by organisations such as the OECD or IISD?

It's great having such brilliant minds sharing their wisdom on this matter.. we really need to change from business as usual and it's time for stakeholders to start walking the talk. Am looking forward to COP 27 and the issue of encouraging fossil fuels should be on top of the agenda

It's saddening to see how much money has been used in giving subsidies to fossil fuels.. it's ironic to see governments and organizations that have pledged to achieve the Paris and COP26 agreement targets are the ones still encouraging fossil fuels. I wish all this money can be directed to green renewable energy projects..

Creating awareness to the public on the need to make social fossil reforms will help call governments to stop giving subsidies to fossil fuels. That was an interesting discussion, we should get many people on board to champion against subsidies to fossil fuels to save humanity.

Indonesia has already set precedence, they have proved its doable. Call for governments to stop giving subsidies to fossil fuels and invest that money to green innovations , these innovations will go a long to assist the less privileged in the society.

There is no right time to make fossil reforms, time to act is now .the discussion is informative.

Is there not a case for an International Fund for the Development of Renewables, (IFDR) to help poorer countries to migrate their infrastructure energy to domestic-based renewables?

Lots of government talk about what industry and agriculture need to do but how about government, central and local, leading by example? All government (and MPs, Civil Servants etc) vehicles to be electric. All government buildings to have Solar Roofs and use green energy. All government related car parks (NHS, Schools, Universities, Leisure Centres, Park& Ride) to have Solar roofs providing power to the premises and free EV charging for employees and local residents. Outcomes: Meet Zero CO2 targets, Reduce Air pollution for all residents, Reduce repiratory treatments in over-burdened NHS, Facilitate the transition to EVs, Facilitate 'energy independence' for the UK.
