Climate Change Awareness,Narok County Edition

Communicating on climate change is about educating and mobilizing audiences, without living anyone behind to take action to confront the climate crisis impacts. Everyone can play a part by raising their voice, sharing solutions and advocating for change. Just like you can’t build a castle without a strong foundation, we won’t be able to mitigate the effects of climate change without directly involving the young people who are the agents of change, future world leaders, scientists and innovators.
We Don’t Have Time – Kenya team, continues to Provide key information about climate change which has gradually increased engagement and awareness on climate issues and mitigation of support policies. In acknowledging the role that the young people play in combating climate change; the team has extended climate change awareness campaigns to many tertially institutions. It is evident that through young people’s unprecedented mobilization around the world, decision-makers will be forced to be accountable of their actions.

During We Don’t Have Time Team’s visit in Narok county, they interacted with Maasai Mara University environment club students where they actively involved the audience through tree planting exercise & climate change conversation. Narok county being one of the counties that has been affected by climate change in the last 10-20 years, with unpredictable rainfall seasons and prolonged dry spells and drought, the students appreciated the team for the insightful session.
After a day of series of activities, the team later joined hospitality students in their Gala night event where they still continued with climate change conversations in the same institution. The students were delighted to join @wedonthavetime platform and the #WeCanDoIt campaign that was launched during COP 27.

Raising awareness of environmental issues is key to keeping sustainable living at the forefront of people's minds, but also an opportunity to educate people and spread the word to help protect nature.
