No Response From President to Help Those Affected by Flooding

The Kenyan president's response to the flooding brought about by heavy rains in the country has been horrible. A president's job is to keep his people safe and bring togetherness. Up to now, Mr. William Ruto has not issued a statement to comfort people affected by floods nor has he set aside resources to help these victims.

What is he doing instead? He is busy launching a program already quashed by the courts, the affordable housing program instead of helping out his citizens. Is this how a president acts in times of need? He has ignored the plight of his people and instead is urging the Kenya parliament to buy him a new presidential jet that will keep on increasing the country's emissions.
The Kenyan people should take note of this to know what kind of leaders they need and how these leaders will treat them when in office.

Why ignore the plight of Kenyans during their most vulnerable time but go to them to seek votes during your most vulnerable time?

The government should actually come up with early warning systems to deal with catastrophe before it occurs as it will be more efficient.

Kenya deserves leadership that prioritizes the well-being of its citizens, especially in times of crisis like flooding. Effective leadership means empathy, action, and accountability, not neglect and misplaced priorities. This cannot continue to happen and change is necessary

With the poor and detriment-ed drainage system in the country,It's a high time for the Kenyan Government to clearly strategize measures to resolve the depressing havoc caused.

The absence of a presidential response to aid those impacted by devastating floods is truly heartbreaking. Vulnerable communities are left to grapple with the aftermath without timely emergency support and relief. This failure of leadership further compounds the suffering during times of crisis and natural disaster.

@walter_lungayi The president seems concerned with doubling up on the country's emissions by purchasing new cars and new jets. On one hand he says he cares about the environment but on the other hand, he helps destroy it while showing no concern for his people. Presidential much?

When people are suffering from flooding, you'd expect the president to at least acknowledge the situation and offer some support. But nope, it's radio silence from the top, leaving those affected high and dry while they're literally underwater.

@princess_nel_268 Very well put. He has completely ignored his primary mandate as head of state and instead is busy galavanting all over the place seeming busy but doing nothing while his countrymen suffer. He puts business ahead of people's lives like a common businessman, sigh.

Ignoring the suffering of citizens and focusing on irrelevant projects while urgent action is needed reflects a profound lack of empathy and leadership.
