EU proposes to limit methane emissions on gas imports.

The European Commission has proposed imposing methane emissions limits on EU gas imports from 2030, a move that would put pressure on the bloc’s international suppliers of fossil fuels, such as the United States. United, so that they reduce the leaks of this gas with high global warming potential.
The proposal, dated October 23 and seen by Reuters on Wednesday, follows pressure from the European Parliament and some major EU countries, including France, in ongoing negotiations on a law on methane emissions inside the Union.
