New office built from 98 % recycled materials and furniture

Swedish architecture firm Link Arkitektur have used recycled materials and climate smart solutions when creating their new office in Stockholm. - Sustainability and design have been key words in the work of creating a flexible office. We wanted to show how far you can go in the meeting between design and recycling if you choose to set high goals. Hopefully we can inspire more people to do the same, says Linda Santesson, regional manager. We at @LINK_Arkitektur are very proud of our new office and happy about the attention it has received. Constantly challenging business as usual is an important part of pushing for sustainable development and in the case of our own office, it was also about seeing what was possible to achieve in relation to reuse of interiors and reduced climate impact without compromising on function and identity. We did this to inspire and show that it is possible. We succeeded in defining the sustainable offices of the future both in relation to process, function, identity but also in terms of responsibility. Taking responsibility when it comes to creating a good working environment that supports our employees in the best way in their professional performance, but also taking responsibility in relation to ecological sustainability aspects where we just have to change our current behavior in the industry regarding resource use and climate impact. Private companies and the public sector in Sweden throw away aprox. 330,000 tonnes of furniture annually and we architects play an important role in inspiring and helping our customers to move towards a more sustainable behavior when it comes to resource use and climate impact in relation to office environments. We hope that our own office will show that it is possible and that it is very easy to break up with business as usual in favor of sustainable development while at the same time handle all other demands placed on the office environments of the future. ”, Per Olsson, Head of Sustainability, LINK Arkitektur See more about this in this video (in Swedish): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XM1dMQBYbmM
