In October 2024, the lively state of Karnataka was struck by the forces of nature as both its northern and southern regions were severely affected by catastrophic incidents. In the northern part, places like Gadag and Ballari struggled with persistent heavy rains and a powerful cyclone, resulting in tragic loss of life and destruction of residences. Meanwhile, in the southern region, Udupi encountered sudden heavy rainfalls that caused severe flooding, submerging more than 10 homes and causing significant damage.
These calamitous occurrences serve as a clear indication of the pressing climate changes that are reshaping our world. It is time for us to combine our scientific resources and brightest intellects in a Global Scientific Alliance!
