SETTING SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS TO CAUTION DROUGHT HIT COUNTIES.

https://youtu.be/VUaBNjUILdU The government of Kenya has embarked on a journey to caution the worst hit regions by drought and hunger. The authorities have put in place both short term and longtime solutions to save the people and livestock languishing in this disaster. Speaking in an interview on Thursday the Cabinet Secretary for East Africa Community, Arid and Semi-Arid lands and Regional Development, Rebecca Miano explained the measures in place to caution these regions. Among the key measures are: 1) Climate Financing- this is set to empower members of the society. 2) Encouraging irrigation – this is to encourage farming, hence food security. 3) Opening aggregation and industrial parks – this will ensure members from pastoralism can get a chance to get value for their hides and skins. 4) School feeding program – to get all children from malnutrition. 5) Emergency food relief Among the regions to benefit with this programs include Samburu, Turkana, Wajir, kajiado among others. If this is attained it will go a long way to empowering the community and give an assurance to food security. Now CS Miano calls for all to forge their efforts together to win this war against hunger caused by adverse effects of climate change. https://youtu.be/VUaBNjUILdU

Believe that these steps will help caution the drought hit regions and the whole country as a whole. This means that these SDG should be adopted at a national level not regional

@edwin_wangombe I believe this should be the approach to reach every region that is affected.

Its so good to see the government be mindful of communities living in ASAL areas in the country before they can lose their livestock and their lives like has happened in the past
