The Swedish operator SJ recently launched its new version of the X2000 inter-city train. It’s got an upgraded control system, improved technology, and a completely new interior. But this new train is actually built inside an existing one. Which is great. By re-using the entire shell from the old train, 5 000 tonnes of stainless steel have been saved. Good thinking, SJ!
