Climate Change is threatening the tastiest Valentine’s Day traditions

From gifting giant, heart-shaped boxes of bonbons to sharing lush, creamy ganaches, chocolate is the tastiest Valentine’s tradition. But the main ingredient of chocolate, cacao which only grows in highly specific climate conditions is getting harder to produce and more expensive due to climate change.
As cacao production is threatened by climate change, it is also fueling the climate crisis. Between 2000 and 2019 alone, 2.4 million hectares of forest were cleared to make room for cocoa plantations in the Ivory Coast. When trees are chopped down, much of the carbon they stored over their lifetime is released back into the atmosphere as planet-heating carbon dioxide.
So if you are buying chocolate for a loved one, consider brands such as @ferrero in which all of their cacao have traceable sources with leading certification standards as Rainforest Alliance.
Another two Valentine's Day traditions: flowers and champagne, are experiencing the same crisis. Click the link👇to find out more.

It is a sorry for the lovers but also a good news for the environment .Anything which is a threat for the environment should be discouraged .Even if climate has affected its growth ,action should be taken to stop its plantation
