The 29.8 MWp plant which is floating on the former sand extraction lake de Uivermeertjes in the Netherlands will be generating #greenenergy for more than 8,000 households. The implementation of this #PV plant is the result of an intensive collaboration with landscape architects and ecologists. The solar park is located over the deepest part of the lake and is anchored to the ground of it, instead of to the banks, meaning that flora and fauna on the shore will not be affected. Only 30% of the surface is occupied by the #solarpark, which keeps possible interference with the ecosystem at a minimum. Moreover, our modules are separated by skylights, which ensures good air circulation and incidence of light. Uivermeertjes now took over the title from our Floating-PV Park Bomhofsplas (27.4 MWp) of being the largest Floating-PV System outside of Asia.
