Heaviest rain ever’ causes deadly floods and landslides in Japan

Six people died and three others were missing after the “heaviest rain ever” triggered floods and landslides in south-west Japan. The Japan meteorological agency warned residents in Kyushu – one of the country’s four main islands – to stay alert for more landslides, a common hazard in mountainous areas after heavy rainfall. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2023/jul/11/heaviest-rain-ever-causes-deadly-floods-and-landslides-in-japan

The Japanese government should step up measures to ensure that will help mitigate the effects of climate change to avoid such havoc

This is an unfortunate occurrence and we hope the Japanese Govt will put enough measures to show preparedness for such natural occurrences
