Time to stop selling cars and start selling transportation solutions

The focus from the car industry is to sell ten cars to ten families and that is not good for the climate and it is also not good for using our common resources in the best way.
My idea is to sell the transport function instead of cars - One week you don't need a car and can solve your transport needs with public transport, the next week you can solve your transport needs with a bicycle and the third week you need a car and sometimes the only solution is a flight to solve your transportation needs.
So Volvo, you now have the opportunity to be the first in the car industry to make a real change by offering a flexible solution instead of a piece of hardware (the car), which on average is parked 23 hours out of the 24 hours of the day - from a resource perspective should be equal to large stupidity.

This idea challenges the conventional car ownership model and promotes more sustainable, flexible transport solutions. By offering transport as a service based on real needs—whether it’s public transit, biking, or car sharing companies like Volvo could lead the shift toward efficient resource use and reduced carbon emissions.

It aligns with the evolving needs of consumers who are looking for more than just a vehicle—they want convenience, flexibility, and sustainability.

@peter_karanga Def. This approach not only addresses environmental concerns but also meets the growing demand for personalized, adaptable, and eco-friendly transportation options. It could reshape the industry by prioritizing practicality and sustainability over ownership.

@annett_michuki Most people don’t need to own a car every day; they just need efficient and sustainable ways to get from point A to B. By offering transportation solutions instead of selling cars, we can reduce waste, traffic, and emissions.

It's about time that we came up with alternative transport solution so as to deal with pollution sooner .

We can actually do without cars for quite some time thus reducing the kind of pollution that is brought about by them.

@jane_wangui I think if we focus with public transport, which is electric instead of private vehicles, we can reduce emissions with a higher percentage.
