🟣 Russia. July 25. #eruption Bezymianny #Volcano, located on Russia’s Kamchatka Peninsula west of the Aleutian Islands, erupted early Wednesday morning. According to the Japan Meteorological Agency the blast sent volcanic ash 40,000 feet into the atmosphere. Winds have begun pushing the ash towards the western Bering Sea.

🟣 Hottest day on Earth: Planet breaks record twice this week amid historic heat waves.
The world again registered its hottest day on record on Monday (July 22, 2024),
That record surpassed a world record set just one day earlier at 17.09 degrees Celsius (62.76 degrees Fahrenheit), narrowly breaking the previous record of 17.08 degrees Celsius, recorded on July 6, 2023.
Another sign of the global warming trend is the fact that the ten years with the highest average daily temperatures have occurred in the last 10 years, from 2015 to 2024.

🟣 USA. #fires Oregon now battling country’s largest “megafire.” According to experts at NOAA, a megafire is a blaze that burns more than 100,000 acres and produces wide ranging societal impacts. According to the National Interagency Fire Center, at least five fires burning through the West have consumed more than 100,000 acres.

July 21 Torrential #rain and #thunderstorms are continuing to make life miserable for tens of millions of people across the South, from Texas to the Southeast and mid-Atlantic, as a stalled-out cold front and deep tropical moisture combine to produce copious amounts of precipitation that has led to flooding in many parts of the region.

🟣 Japan. July 25 Heavy #rain lashes northeastern Japan, triggering #floods, #landslides - 4 inches of rainfall in an hour. More than 100 millimeters of rain fell in the two municipalities and their vicinities during an hour through 9:00 a.m., according to the agency.

This waterspout reached heights of over 200 meters and lasted for around 15 minutes.

July 25 The eastern Chinese province of Fujian has evacuated more than 150,000 residents due to the expected impact of #Typhoon Gaemi. 73 passenger ferries have been suspended, and 97 flights have been cancelled, the Chinese news agency Xinhua reported. Typhoon Gaemi will hit the region Thursday afternoon.

🟣 Italy. #Hail that fell on July 24 in the border area between the provinces of Verona and Vicenza had a diameter of up to five centimeters and caused damage and inconvenience. Crops were destroyed. Motorists were blocked by hail on the A4 highway, where hailstones scratched car bodies and cracked windshields.
