The African Union has been made a permanent member of the G20
The African Union has been named as a permanent member of the G20 as announced by India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the G20 summit in India.
Modi embraced the Chairperson of the AU Azali Assoumani as he invited the president of Comoros to take his seat.
During his address Modi said this will strengthen the G20 and strengthen the voice of the global South.
This happens a few days after Africa Nations held the Africa Climate Summit in Nairobi where they asked to be part of the team making decisions on matters climate and global financing.
This is a blessing to African Nations now that they have a seat at the table where matters relating to the global economy, international financial stability, climate change mitigation and sustainable development are solved.
This is great show of inclusivity.
