Dead fish wash up on riverbank amid draught crisis

Thousands of dead fish have washed ashore in southeast Iraq, at Amshan River prompting an official investigation into the wildlife disaster that officials say may be linked to the existing drought conditions.
Amshan River is located in Majar al-Kabir, an area in Maysan province that borders Iran.
The region is home to fabled marshes in the floodplain of the Tigris River, already suffering from the devastating effects of global warming.

It's saddening to see the marine life at risk due to the climate conditions... Extreme measures should be taken to prevent such occurrence.

Higher temps in water=lower oxygen levels..it's happening a lot in lots of rivers and canals😕 we're now seeing impacts of >1.5° increase.
