Excellent Introduction to Ecological Economics and How to Create a Sustainable Future

"The future which is most likely is the one that we come together to try and build." - Simon Mair I highly recommend watching and discussing this video with friends and family. A sustainable economy won't just happen by itself. Let's co-create the future we want to see! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h-DbYuuwjgQ Learn more about Broaden Films and the story behind this project: https://broadenfilms.com/work/ecological-economics/

Hi Samuel, Bryony from BROADEN here. Thanks for sharing our short video! We totally agree - alternative futures won't just happen by themselves, we have to actively co-create them, and that starts with educating ourselves about how our current economy is broken and then sharing examples of alternative economic exchange that are starting to grow roots. We see the co-operative movement, the emergence of UBS (universal basic services), time-banking, mutual aid and the commons all as exciting examples of this.

We have no choice, but to fix everything back better, great opportunity. Will be the largest economic expansion in human history- especially in terms of the Physics definition of work.

An eyeopener to rising issues which have been displayed phenomenally in this video. If our economy should only be about buying or selling, then we really undermine what really makes economic transactions possible, be it systemic processes or natural resources. Only together can we create a difference in our planet Earth. Must watch 👍🏻

Thanks so much, Riddhi. You've completely summed up what we were aiming to achieve in this video - opening people's eyes to the undermining quality of our current economy and the need for a more holistic approach. Thank you for watching, and commenting!

This topic of the relationship between Ecology and Economy has been weighing on heavily on my mind the past few days and this video has really sparked my imagination of a new world. I believe that permaculture offers us the blueprint to make this necessary shift in the economic system. Earth Care, People Care, Fair Share. 💚

Hey Joel, so glad the video touched you. That idea of sparking people's imaginations is central to what we believe we need to do, as filmmakers and change-makers. And you're absolutely right! We need a BLUEPRINT - a future-focused guidebook which draws on deep-rooted knowledge about what works for people and for planet.
