University of California,San Diego college has made climate change a compulsory unit

The University of California, San Diego College has recognized that climate change is the one of the serious challenges that its students will face in their life time. They have therefore decided to raise awareness by making the climate change course a compulsory aimed at preparing the students for future complications and how the crisis is being tackled.

The requirement is named after the late Scripps Institution of Oceanography professor Jane Teranes, who advocated for climate education at UC San Diego, the university.

It's fantastic to see UC San Diego taking this step! Making climate change education compulsory not only equips students with essential knowledge but also fosters a generation that understands the urgency of environmental issues. This kind of initiative can inspire similar actions at other institutions, amplifying the impact of climate education across the board.
