Subsidizing fossil fuels with €37.5 billion per year

The Netherlands is subsidizing fossil fuels with a shockingly high amount of €37.5 billion per year.  This according to a new report by SOMO, Friends of the Earth Netherlands, and Oil Change International.  The report is based on a bottom-up analysis of the Netherlands' identifiable fossil fuel subsidy measures. These have then been quantified using the UNEP methodology for measuring fossil fuel subsidies. The researchers estimate the Dutch fossil fuel subsidies at €37.5 billion a year between 2020 and 2022, a sum much higher than previous estimates (ranging between €4 and €17 billion a year).
Dear @mark_rutte, Prime Minister of the Netherlands. We will never be able to solve the climate crisis in time if your government (and other governments around the world) continue to waste ridiculous amounts of your tax-payers' money to accelerate the crisis instead of investing it in solutions.

That’s incredible! What is the amount of fossil fuel consumption of all the armies of this planet? Can you estimate?
