This is a promising step towards a more sustainable energy future. Let's hope to see even greater investments in renewables to truly combat climate change.

We really hope that big companies such as total will honour their pledges of investing in green energy before the issue of climate change is irreversible.

Our hopes and desires is to see these fossil fuel companies invest heavily on green and clean energies

It's promising to see TotalEnergies focusing on renewable energy projects like solar power while also investing in associated gas projects.

They can do more that this. If they can invest heavily in fossils fuel, they can shift to renewable energy without any difficulty.

@walter_lungayi You're absolutely right! TotalEnergies has the capacity and resources to make even greater strides in renewable energy.

This sure does not look like divesting from fossil fuels

Until there are substantial evidence of @Totalenergies cutting on its fossil fuel production,I don't think they deserve a climate love

Why hide behind the mask of green energy yet we all know they be investing in fossil fuels this whole time?

You can't send climate love for a gas project, gas is a fossil fuel just in case you forgot!

⚠️ well, it looks like it is mostly a gas project (fossil fuels) which definitely doesn't deserve climate love! From the article you linked: "Besides raising production at the Ratawi southern oilfield, the deal consists of a 1 GW solar power plant, a 600 mcf/d gas processing facility, and a sea water supply project key to boosting Iraq's southern oil production." So it very much looks like the renewables are just here to provide energy for... oil production!

It's a good move but i would discourage gas projects association.
