Climate Action is Slowly Facing More Complex Global Issues

As the world evolves and needs inadvertently become more complex, there seems to be a rising need to approach climate change in a different system.

A recent article by Reuters revealed that the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) faces the biggest opposition from governments and rebels, who at times, downplay their contributions to create a façade of stability.
It appears that governments fear the international 'stigmatization' that would follow, if they make headlines showing their inability to complete its most basic duty: feeding its people.

While IPC's work involves data analysis to determine the most vulnerable areas in need of urgent humanitarian aid, complex global issues such as conflict and falsified information are becoming harder to by-pass. This means that those in areas suffering the biggest blow, are the hardest to reach and this is backed up by the fact that a government's military strategy can ultimately affect humanitarian goals.

Governments play a crucial role in policy-making, collaboration and resilience-building to maximize protection and ensure food security. Their involvement in such matters is the ultimate boost to external aid, which ought to be a complement to internal efforts.
