Athletes and sports organizations join forces against plastic pollution: manifesto calls for action from beverage giants
Open letter demands reusable packaging at sporting events and greater commitment to sustainability

10/08/2024 – Eleven sports organizations and 102 elite athletes, representing 43 sports and 30 countries, have joined forces in a manifesto demanding significant changes in the practices of large beverage companies. The document, addressed to the CEOs of Coca-Cola and PepsiCo, calls on these corporations to adopt more reusable packaging and drastically reduce the use of single-use plastics, which contribute to environmental pollution.
